Online driver license and vehicle registration renewal services will be unavailable May 6-9, 2016, residents are encouraged to renew early

Due to technical relocation, online services will be unavailable statewide

CLEARWATER, FLORIDA, APRIL 29, 2016 – The Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles’ servers will be relocated the weekend of May 6-9, 2016, which means that online driver license and motor vehicle services through gorenew.com will be unavailable. Gorenew.com is the online portal Pinellas County residents are directed to through the Pinellas County Tax Collector’s website for driver license and motor vehicle renewals.

Impacted services will go offline at 8 p.m., Friday, May 6 and are scheduled to be restored by 8 a.m. Monday, May 9.

Residents that know their driver license, identification card, or vehicle registration will expire on or before May 10, are strongly encouraged to go online or visit an office to renew on or before 5 p.m. Friday, May 6 to ensure their license, ID card, and/or registration does not expire.
