Pinellas County achieves 62 percent organ donor registration rate in July
In July 2016, the Pinellas County Tax Collector’s office helped 7,051 residents register as organ donors. That is 62 percent of all drivers license transactions in Pinellas during the month of July.
Organ donation is a vital service for all communities. Today, more than 5,200 Floridians are waiting for life-saving organ transplants. Many of these individuals may get a second chance at life due to the generosity of those who designate themselves as organ, tissue, and eye donors.
The Pinellas County Tax Collector’s office thanks everyone who says “YES” to becoming an organ donor!
Are you interested in registering as an organ donor? You can signup the next time you renew your driver’s license or anytime by visiting donatelifeflorida.org/register or by calling Donate Life Florida directly at 1-877-35-SHARE (1-877-357-4273) and requesting a registry form.
