“Every year, we try to make it as convenient as possible for Pinellas property owners to make their tax payments,” said Pinellas County Tax Collector Diane Nelson. “We know this is a very busy time of year for most people. This express service is a great option for taxpayers who want to pay in person, in time to receive the 4 percent discount.”

The express service is a payment option for those who wish to make an in-person payment by check before the end of November. It is a convenient way for taxpayers to make their payments without standing in line or waiting. Payments made through the express service will receive the 4 percent discount allowed by Florida law. Customers visiting the Tax Collector’s office in Largo will experience the additional convenience of drive-thru service.

The Tax Collector’s office mailed more than 400,000 property tax bills at the end of October and began accepting payments November 1. Each year, taxpayers receive a 4 percent discount for payments made by the end of November. Payments received by mail must have a November postmark to receive the 4 percent discount.

After November, payments made by the following dates receive the respective discounts: December 31, 3 percent; January 31, 2 percent; and February 28, 1 percent. All payments must be made by March 31 to avoid becoming delinquent. In addition to the express drop off and drive-thru service, payments are accepted online at taxcollect.com, through the mail, or at any Pinellas County Tax Collector’s office.
