Parents Can Now Check their Child's Driving Record

Driver Licenses

The Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles has expanded its internet services to allow parental access to a minor's driving history.

The Jeffrey Klapatch Act went into effect Jan. 1, 2007 - the legacy of a Lakeland teenager who died tragically in 2005.  The new law provides a system that allows either parent of a minor, a guardian, or other responsible adult who signed a minor's application for a driver's license, to have internet access to inspect the minor's driver history record.
