2009 Pinellas Property Tax Bills Open for Payment

Save time and pay online. No fees for E-Checks

COURTHOUSE CLEARWATER: Pinellas County Tax Collector Diane Nelson reminds property owners that all 2009 Pinellas Real Property Taxes and Personal Property Taxes are open for payment beginning with Sunday, November 1, 2009.

One way to save time – and avoid crowds in this year’s H1N1 Flu season – is to stay away from county offices and pay online.

Online payments can be made anytime – after hours or on weekends – and there are no convenience fees if you pay by electronic check (E-Check). The Tax Collector’s online payment vendor, Grant Street Group, also offers Pinellas taxpayers the option of using Visa®, Master Card®, American Express®, Discover® to pay property taxes online. A 2.95% convenience fee will be added to credit card transactions.

Taxpayers are reminded if you choose a credit card or E-Check payment online, this is a transaction between you, the customer, and Grant Street Group, the vendor. The Tax Collector of Pinellas County is not a party to that transaction. The vendor charges a convenience fee for credit card transactions, and the Tax Collector does not receive any money from the fees charged by the vendor.

We encourage taxpayers to take advantage of the early payment discounts of 4% in November, 3% in December, 2% in January, and 1% in February. The gross amount is collected in March, with bills becoming delinquent on April 1, 2010.

Property owners can save postage by using the teal-colored drop boxes, Drop Box
such as the one pictured here, conveniently located at each Tax Collector branch office.

Noteworthy features of the 2009 Property Tax Bill:
  • To “Search-Pay-Taxes-Online,” enter the account number that comes after
the two-digit prefix. The two-digit prefix is for Tax Collector staff only.
  • Changed printing style to make it more readable.
  • Millages, Exemptions, Taxable Value and Taxes Levied are listed by district
    for full disclosure.
  • Name of Escrow Agent (Mortgage Co.) instead of just a code number is provided.

Pinellas County Offices are open for walk-in customers Monday through Friday, 8 am to 5 pm, except for holidays.
