The Tax Collector’s office processes dealer work two different ways: as drop-off work and express work. Both processes are essentially the same. The difference is the time element of completion.
Express is an option we offer when you have an emergency or an outside lender that needs a lien receipt. Your work is completed the same day. However, we limit you to five transactions in order to complete everyone’s work on time. If you place work in Express, it must be picked up that same day.
In another effort to provide world-class service, the Tax Collector guarantees in by 8:00 a.m., out by 1:30 p.m., express turnaround. How can your work arrive by 8:00 a.m.? You may take advantage of the drop boxes at the following offices: Gulf-to-Bay, South County, North County and Mid County. Please record on the sign-in tickets the time when the work was placed in the drop box.
Drop-off work is completed within 24 to 48 hours. Please complete the drop ticket and sign-in your work on the log sheet. The procedure allows 10 transactions per payment, per bag of work. Don’t forget the drop boxes — they can be used for both Express and drop work, using the same procedures.
