Computer Testing Temporarily Unavailable at North County Office
If your teen is ready to earn a learner’s permit, there’s a temporary change you need to know about at the Pinellas County Tax Collector’s Office. From Monday, September 25 through Tuesday, October 31, the computer-based road rules and road signs test will be unavailable at the North County office, located at 29399 U.S. 19 N., Suite 100 in Clearwater. The computer-based CDL test is also unavailable at the North County office during this time.
The Tax Collector is in the process of retrofitting its North County office to add four permanent service stations. This addition will allow the office to serve customers more efficiently. While construction will temporarily halt access to testing computers, all other Tax Collector services will be available, including printing and issuing driver licenses. Construction is scheduled to be complete mid-November 2017.
Drivers are required to pass the computer-based road rules and road signs test in order to earn a learner’s permit or first driver’s license. The Tax Collector will continue to offer the test at the following locations:
- Gulf to Bay (1663 Gulf to Bay Blvd., Clearwater, FL 33755)
- Mid County (13025 Starkey Rd., Largo, FL 33773)
- Skyway (1067 62nd Ave. S., St. Petersburg, FL 33705
