Pinellas County 2017 Property Tax Bills Mailed October 31

CLEARWATER, FL – No tricks here: Pinellas County Property Tax bills were mailed out on October 31. In total, 407,085 bills were mailed. An additional 3,407 bills will be emailed on November 1.

The 2017 total billing is more than $1.5 billion. Property tax dollars fund the budgets of taxing authorities throughout Pinellas County, including the School District, county, cities, law enforcement, libraries, and more.

This is the first year Pinellas County property owners who registered online for paperless billing will receive their property tax bill by email only – no paper copy in the mail. Not sure if you opted in for email billing? A courtesy reminder was emailed on October 30 to all taxpayers who opted in for email-only bills. Check your inbox for an email from with the subject line “Pinellas County Tax Collector E-Bills Subscription.”

Property owners who did not opt into email billing will continue to receive property tax bills by regular mail. To get bills by email next property tax season, visit and click on the “Property Tax” tab.

Property owners are encouraged to pay property taxes online at beginning November 1. There is no extra fee to pay by e-check. During the 2016 property tax season, more than 60,000 Pinellas County property owners paid property taxes online. Bills are payable from November 1, 2017 through March 31, 2018. On April 1, property taxes become delinquent and owners are charged an additional 3% interest.

It pays to pay your property taxes early. Bills paid in November receive a 4% discount. The discount drops to 3% in December, 2% in January, and 1% in February. There is no discount for bills paid in March. For more information about property taxes, visit
