Location Change for Concealed Weapon License Services
CLEARWATER, FL – The Pinellas County Tax Collector’s Office is pleased to announce the relocation of its concealed weapon license services.
Effective Monday, February 26, this service will be available on the second floor of the building that houses its North County Tax Collector’s Office, located at 29399 U.S. Highway 19 North in Clearwater. Service will be available Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. Walk-in customers will not be accepted after 4 p.m. Concealed weapon clients will enter the building’s main entrance – not the North County Tax Collector’s Office – and check in on the second floor.
Concealed weapon license services are available through Friday, February 23 at the Tax Collector’s Main Administrative Office located at 315 Court Street, on the third floor of the downtown Clearwater Courthouse.
Appointments are highly recommended and can be made at taxcollect.com/cwl. More than 7,000 people utilized the Pinellas County Tax Collector’s concealed weapon license services in 2017. Statewide, 1.84 million Floridians are concealed weapon license holders.
“Our new concealed weapon license service location brings added convenience, including easy access to free parking,” said Pinellas County Tax Collector Charles W. Thomas. “We have also expanded the number of applicant stations, allowing up to four people to begin the concealed weapon process simultaneously.”
The total fees for the Tax Collector’s concealed weapon license services are $119 for an original license and $57 for renewals, with reduced fees for active and retired law enforcement officers. Active duty military and veterans can have services expedited at no extra cost with proof of eligibility, such as a copy of their Common Access Card or DD-214 long form.
