About the Program
Kids Tag Art is a partnership between Florida Tax Collectors, local school districts, and business sponsors. It allows 5th grade students to become real-world designers, creating unique front license plate designs in art class that can be printed on real metal plates. Proceeds from tag sales and sponsorships are then donated to schools to pay for art supplies and art-themed field trips. The Pinellas County Tax Collector’s Office launched Kids Tag Art Pinellas in 2015. Since its inception, the office has raised over $183,000 for Pinellas County Schools elementary art programs and college scholarships. In addition to raising funds, Kids Tag Art Pinellas is also a juried art competition, with winners from each school honored at a formal award ceremony in January 2020.
How to Purchase a Plate
Plates are on sale now at kidstagartpinellas.org. Buyers can search by student first name, school name, or the art teacher’s name. Plates cost $15 each plus shipping and handling.
100% of the proceeds from tag sales and sponsorships go directly to elementary art programs. Proceeds pay for art supplies and art-themed field trips at participating elementary schools. Kids Tag Art Pinellas helps elementary art teachers avoid having to pay for supplies out of pocket, and it also also ensures our children have access to quality art supplies and activities, encouraging creative development. In addition, select student artists are honored at a formal award ceremony with awards including medals, framed artwork, and donated prizes.
Kids Tag Art Pinellas is a community partnership program made possible by partnerships between the Pinellas County Tax Collector’s Office, School District, and generous community sponsors.
