Pinellas County Tax Collector Offices Extending Hours for Voter Registration
PINELLAS COUNTY, FL – Pinellas County Tax Collector Charles W. Thomas announces all tax collector offices, except the downtown Clearwater Courthouse location, will remain open until 7 p.m. tonight to accept voter registration applications. The Supervisor of Elections has an office on the first floor of the Courthouse, located at 315 Court St in Clearwater, and will be accepting the voter registration applications directly at that location during the same timeframe.
Monday, October 5th, was the scheduled deadline for voter registration. However, Florida’s online voter registration system crashed and malfunctioned for approximately three hours last night. In response to these issues, Governor DeSantis has extended the voter registration deadline to tonight, at 7 p.m.
“We want to do our part to make sure all Pinellas citizens have the opportunity to vote this November,” says Tax Collector Charles W. Thomas. “Therefore, we are honoring the Governor’s request and will be accepting voter registration applications at our offices this evening.”
